Something Strange Is Building Around September 18

There is an options position in gold right now that I genuinely cannot stop staring at and once you see the number, you won't be able to either.

It isn’t one trade. It isn’t one strike. It isn’t even one institution that we can identify. It is something much more interesting: A MASSIVE concentration of options positioning has been building around September 18, 2026.

And September 18 happens to be the date on which the Bank of Japan’s September monetary-policy meeting concludes. The BOJ will announce its next decision on 18th September 2026.

Coincidence? Possibly.

But the options data makes the date worth watching. I’ve used my framework to decode this data. When I looked at the GLD September 18 chain, the first number that jumped out was almost absurd.
